Police: Homeless man charged in Bath burglary

BATH — Colonial Regional police say a homeowner’s surveillance camera captured images of a burglary of his Bath home that led to the arrest of a homeless man.

Louis Pipito III, 35, is charged with burglary, trespassing, receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking. Pipito was sent to Northampton County Jail under $65,000 bail.

According to court records:

Raju Vikram told police Wednesday that a motion-activated camera he had in a home in the 300 block of West Main Street showed a man entering the house.

Vikram said the house is being renovated and the video showed the man walking over to the camera and taking it. Vikram obtained the camera’s footage from his cellphone.

Vikram told police he saw a man who matched the description of the man in the video sitting on a bench in front of a West Main Street hotel.

Police identified the man as Pipito and said he matched the “exact description” of the person in the surveillance video.

Police said Pipito told themhe had entered a home because “he was looking for help.”
