Master Bath Tub/shower - Plumbing

Around here you can't sell a house except for a starter home unless it has a 5 piece master bath. Tub, separate shower, toilet and 2 sinks. On some of our smaller houses I will go 4 piece. And that means only 1 sink, the separate shower and tub are still there.

What I have done to save a little on the lower priced homes, is used a prefab shower instead of a tile shower. Higher end is all tile. For prefabs we have used 36" showers, and 48" and 60" showers with the little corner seats built in. We usually use Kohler Terracina showers.

The smallest homes we build are around 2400 sq, ft. And have 3 to 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths (not 2 3/4) with the master being a 4 piece like I described above.

The higher end tile showers are not that bad. I always rinse the walls down with the extra hand shower head we have, this helps with the soap build up. And just make sure the grout is done right and smooth, and sealed good.

Luxury in Laos at Amantaka's Stunning Luang Prabang Estate

Photos Credit: Aman Resorts It wouldn’t be an Aman property without spectacular grounds, an unbelievably spiritual essence , or a UNESCO World Heritage address . Amantaka, located smack dab in the center of Laos’ UNESCO- protected Luang Prabang , has all three attributes. This resort is a true jewel of Aman’s expanding collection. I traveled to Myanmar and Laos recently and purposely made a stop in Luang Prabang just to experience this Aman. I’m only disappointed that I didn’t visit sooner.  Amantaka, so named after  tipitaka , meaning “the teaching of the Buddha,” has a trace of elegant transcendence. I grew up on the Mississippi River , in Rock Island, Ill. I knew of the river's moods and might but always took it for granted. And yet I'd long wondered what it would be like to travel the Mississippi from source to sea — in a canoe. So, after a decade of imagining and a year of serious preparation, I and three other retired graybeards from suburban Chicago — Tim Clark, Tom Lobacz and Bill Baar — headed north in late May to put in at the Mississippi's headwaters at Lake Itasca, Minn. The river begins as a baby stream gurgling past 25 feet of stones that permit you to "walk across the Mississippi" which, of course, we do. A webcam allows people to watch the "walkers" from afar.
